Chamonix
Si flew out of Manchester with friends in March 2026 and skied Les Grands Montets under clear blue skies, with Chamonix town below for the evenings. Chamonix is a working mountain town rather than a purpose-built resort, which is its charm, but its ski areas are spread along the valley and linked by bus, so where you stay decides how easy each morning is.
Schladming
Schladming is the resort we know best, because we have skied it several times. It is where we send groups who want a town with some life in it, with the Planai and the neighbouring mountains of the Schladming four-mountain area on one lift pass.
