When WheatleyWorldwide Ltd is the organiser of your package

The combination of travel services offered to you is a package within the meaning of the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018. Therefore, you will benefit from all rights applying to packages. WheatleyWorldwide Ltd will be fully responsible for the proper performance of the package as a whole. Additionally, as required by law, WheatleyWorldwide Ltd has protection in place to refund your payments and, where transport is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation in the event that it becomes insolvent.

Key rights under the Regulations

  • Travellers will receive all essential information about the package before concluding the package travel contract.
  • There is always at least one trader who is liable for the proper performance of all the travel services included in the contract.
  • Travellers are given an emergency telephone number or details of a contact point where they can get in touch with the organiser or the travel agent.
  • Travellers may transfer the package to another person, on reasonable notice and possibly subject to additional costs.
  • The price of the package may only be increased if specific costs rise (for instance fuel prices) and if expressly provided for in the contract, and in any event not later than 20 days before the start of the package. If the price increase exceeds 8% of the price of the package, the traveller may terminate the contract. If the organiser reserves the right to a price increase, the traveller has a right to a price reduction if there is a decrease in the relevant costs.
  • If, before departure, we have to change an essential feature of the package significantly, or put the price up by more than 8 per cent, you can cancel without charge and have everything you have paid refunded. If we cancel the package before departure, you are entitled to a refund and, where appropriate, compensation.
  • If something extraordinary and unavoidable happens at or near your destination that significantly affects the trip, you can cancel before departure without paying a cancellation charge.
  • You can also cancel at any time before departure for any other reason, on payment of the cancellation charge set out in the booking conditions.
  • If a part of the package cannot be delivered as agreed after you have left, we must offer a suitable alternative at no extra cost. If a service is not delivered properly and we do not put it right, you are entitled to a price reduction and, where appropriate, compensation. You can cancel the contract if the failure is serious and we do not remedy it.
  • If you are in difficulty, we must give you help and information without delay.
  • If we become insolvent, your payments are refunded. Where the package includes a flight it is protected under our ATOL 12956 and your ATOL Certificate shows what is covered. Where it does not include a flight, your money is held in the Travel Trust Association trust account (member X6411) until your trip is complete. If the insolvency happens after you have departed and transport is included, your return home is also protected.

The regulations themselves, including the official key rights form, can be read at www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2018/634.

When we are the agent for another organiser

When you book a Jet2holidays, easyJet holidays or TUI package through us, the same rights apply, but the organiser responsible for them is that company, not WheatleyWorldwide Ltd. Their booking conditions and their ATOL Certificate set out the protection, and their own key rights information is provided with the booking. We act as your agent and remain your point of contact.
