Towel Wars.
It started with a tip for the cleaner in Egypt. Now hotels are battling it out in towels, and we sleep in the battlefield.
Egypt · March 2026
A tip for the cleaner
At a DoubleTree by Hilton in Sharm el Sheikh we started tipping the cleaner, and towel animals started appearing on the bed. Every day for a week they got more ambitious, and we filmed every one.
The Day 1 reel opens on how it ended, a towel man in sunglasses watching television, then goes back to the start. That is the one that took off.

Malta · August 2026
The plot twist
In August we stayed at ME Malta in St Julian's and found a towel turtle waiting on the bed. Then came the plot twist: a crocodile in eye patches and an elephant in a cap.

Round Two · Malta · October 2026
They invited us back
ME Malta invited us back for Si's birthday weekend, to the same room. When we opened the door there were two towel people in our bed, one in an ME cap with a beer and one in a straw hat with a book, plus a towel birthday cake, a dog in the armchair and a monkey hanging from the wardrobe.
The next day we came back from watching Leeds play Manchester United to a full towel zoo, with dragons, elephants, swans, a birthday card, a WheatleyWorldwide flag and an elephant reading the paper on the toilet.
The next morning we met the housekeeping team behind it all, and bowed to the champions.
Both reels took off within days, and plenty of comments say we lost. For the record, Towel Wars is hotel against hotel, and we are only the audience.

Round Three?
Who's next?
Hotels, if your housekeeping team fancies a round, send us a message on Instagram. Everyone else, follow along, because we have no idea where this goes next either.
The day job
Yes, we are a real travel agency.
When we are not sharing a bed with towel people, we are Si and Beth, WheatleyWorldwide, a travel agency in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, with our own ATOL licence, number 12956. We plan everything from a long weekend in Kraków to three weeks in Australia, and you deal with the two of us from the first message to the flight home.
